A Technical Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) meeting was held on 02 September 2026 at the Mafube Local Municipality Town Hall in Frankfort, chaired by the Acting Municipal Manager of Fezile Dabi District Municipality, Mr Abram Mgcina.

Representatives from Local Municipalities within the District, Office of the Premier, SALGA, sector departments such as the Departments of Health; Human Settlements; Cooperative Governance; Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs; Tourism; Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment; Small Busihness Development; Government Communication & Information System; Water & Sanitation; and other key stakeholders were in attendance to discuss government plans and projects that will improve service delivery.

In terms of the IGR Framework Act, Act 13 of 2005, IGR provides a platform for the three spheres of government to work together, exchange information, and address matters affecting communities collectively.

The meeting featured presentations and reports from various stakeholders, with discussions focusing on current programmes and initiatives requiring coordinated intervention. Among the key matters on the agenda were:
