Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (3x Posts)

Term of Appointment: Duration of 2 years

Place of Work: Fezile Dabi District Municipality

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• 3-year Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma majoring in Economics, Accounting or Finance, Internal Auditing or Risk Management.
• No previous participation in a Municipal Finance Management Intership Programme (MFMIP)
• Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 35 years
• Candidates should be unemployed
• No prior experience is required
• Knowledge of Municipal Finance Management Act 56 of 2003 will be an added advantage

Duties: Exposure to some of the following areas:

• Finance and performance reporting
• Budgetary planning
• Expenditure and revenue management
• Asset management
• Supply chain management

Competencies:

• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Obey all policies and procedures of the municipality in respect of work process, ethic and ethos amongst others
